On 26 and 27 February 2026, nearly one hundred judicial professionals from across the European Union gathered in Nicosia for the European Judicial Training Conference, dedicated to the implementation of the EU Judicial Training Strategy 2025–2030.

The European Union of Judicial Officers was represented by Françoise Andrieux, Honorary President of the International Union of Judicial Officers, who conveyed the perspective of judicial officers within the broader European training framework.

Among the participants were ten judicial officers from the Czech Republic, Italy, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, demonstrating the profession’s strong engagement in shaping the future of judicial training at European level.

Following the plenary sessions, participants worked in separate professional groups. Using a “snowball” discussion method, they were invited to identify both the most important and the most difficult actions to implement under the EU Judicial Training Strategy 2025–2030.

After two intensive and constructive sessions, the group finalized a practical roadmap and identified the relevant actors responsible for each action. The discussions were moderated by Clémence Dossier from the EUBF and led by Erik van Hal, and took place in a spirit of openness, professionalism and active participation from all involved.

The conference once again highlighted the importance of coordinated interprofessional cooperation in strengthening judicial competencies and supporting the effective functioning of the European area of justice.

The exchanges continued in a more informal setting during a Cypriot dinner on Thursday evening, further reinforcing professional ties and dialogue among participants.

The European Union of Judicial Officers warmly thanks all organizers and participants for their valuable input and commitment to advancing high-quality judicial training in Europe.
