The European Union of Judicial Officers (UEHJ) is proud to have participated as a partner in the European project “Training of bailiffs and court staff in European civil and criminal law”, coordinated by the Academy of European Law (ERA). This project, which officially ended on 31 March 2025, successfully delivered 21 training sessions – in-person, online, and hybrid – benefiting more than 500 legal professionals from across the European Union.

The UEHJ contributed its expertise and mobilized its network to ensure the success of this initiative, which strengthens the skills of judicial officers in the context of European judicial cooperation.

Training materials

All training materials are now available and freely downloadable on our project subsite.

  • For the provision of legal training for court staff and bailiffs at national, regional, and pan-European level, you may find the updated training packages including presentations and case studies on selected EU legal instruments in cross-border civil and criminal cooperation here.
  • For users interested in improving their level of English in the fields of European cross-border civil procedures and European criminal law, we have created two interactive e-tools – available here.

Spread the word and feel free to re-use these materials for any future planned training addressed to court staff & bailiffs!

This partnership once again illustrates the UEHJ’s commitment to continuing professional development and the harmonisation of professional practices across Europe.
